Gloria learned the art of clothes making at the age of 18 in her native country Mexico. She gained knowledge and a lot of practice sewing clothes for friends and relatives. At this young age her economic situation forced her to start making a living from her sewing experiences. Gloria became well known and learn a lot more about sewing. She went back to school to sharpen her skills. She had the opportunity to teach sewing in 1983 for a government funded school from her community.
She moved to USA in 1987 and started working at a factory sewing bags. She has been in the sewing industry all this time. She has worked in different local tailor shops where her job has been well known to be professional. Gloria always had the desire to open her own tailor shop, in 1998 She decided to open her tailor shop G.A.V.A’S Alterations. G.A.V.A.’S Alterations have been located around town in different locations always the same owner.
